My thoughts in your brain…

The First Thing to Do to Your New PowerPoint 2013…

with 8 comments

Warning, I’m pretty opinionated when it comes to a garish design that I have to look at for hours at a time. I find it personally offending and I’m not going to mince words here.

Luckily there’s a quick fix for PowerPoint 2013, and I’m happy to share it with you before you suffer permanent vision loss…

  1. Ric, Oh, so nice and so easy. Those of us who spend a lot less time than MVPs looking at the Powerpoint screen will appreciate knowing about this option. Thanks for sharing.

    • If they let me set it to black I’d love it. Unfortunately they’ve labeled charcoal as “Black” which will cause no end of problems when they finally implement a black and then realize they’ll have to label it “Actual Black.”

BTW Jon, this blog is not active any more. All my active content is over at http://blog.ricbret.com, which includes all this content as well! If you got here via a link, please let me know so I can contact the owner to have them update. Thanks!

      • Actually I prefer the lighter grays, but anything beats the bleached white look.

I got here via a link Echo sent earlier today, so maybe you need to catch her up.

    • Jon, was that a link sent to a mail list or just you? I’m not seeing it in my inbox.

      • Looks like WordPress ate my reply. Echo posted the link in a discussion on a Microsoft MVP mailing list. Her link was to https://ricbret.wordpress.com/2013/01/19/calmingdowngrandpaoffice2013/, and I paraphrased a statement of yours like this:

“there’s so much basic knowledge about how works, how the eye interprets , how recognition is speeded by properly applying basic conventions.. screw it, we’re doing it my way.”
